GUARD SCEPTRE 101-P is anti-rust primer coat paint mend of modified polyurethane resin with water as a curing agent. Bucause GUARD SCEPTRE 101-P is a highly permeable liquid, it permeates deep into the iron base while seeking out water that has seeded into cracks of a rusted layer, pitting corrosion , and grain boundary, reacts with water molecules, and emits it to the outside as CO2 gas.
GUARD SCEPTRE 101-P achieves an excellent anti-rust effect by fixing rust as it is and forming robust polyurethane inert coatings. (See the figure at right)

◆Applications
GUARD SCEPTRE 101-P can be used for all kinds of steel facilities (e.g. factory equipment, petroleum tanks, bridges, railroad facilities,ships and vessels, plants, harbor facilities, steel beams, steel silo, wharf facilities, electrics, agricultural facilities, livestock bams, farm tool barns, fishing industry, livestock production facilities, paper manufacturing related applications, and large- and small-sized vehicles) and steel products in living spaces (e.g. balconies, gates, fences, roofs, iron doors, bicycles, iron stairways, banisters, and shutters)
◆Usage
1. By using a wire brush or another tool, remove any floating rust and old coatings from the surface to be painted.
If oil, dirt, or salt is attached to the surface to be painted, rinse it with water. For oily material, perform degreasing.
2. For painting work, select a brush, roller, gun spray, or another tool suited for the site.
3. For any area where the rust layer is thick, use two coats of paint. An area of
approximately 10 m2 can be painted with 1 kg of this product though the area differs
depending on the thickness of the rust layer.
4. The time required for set-to-touch (the state in which a fingerprint is not observed
when the surface is pressed with a finger) after the completion of painting is one hour in summer and two to three hours in winter. For middle and top coating, it is ideal that painting work is started within four or five hours after set-to-touch.
5. Clean the tools used for paint work with xylene within 10 minutes after the completion of work.
6. Because SCEPTRE has a strong adhesive property, wipe off any SCEPTRE that is attached to the periphery of the used can and store it in the sealed container.
Easy-to-use anti-rust paint
GUARD SCEPTRE 120-AL
GUARD SCEPTRE 120-AL is made by mixing very thin scale-like high-purity aluminum foils (1 micron thick) into GUARD SCEPTRE 101-P.
◆Features
Layers of aluminum foils integrated on the surface reflect the sunlight and prevent the deterioration of the coating caused by ultraviolet light. In addition, aluminum, which has a greater tendency toward ionization than iron, melts out instead of iron to protect the iron from corrosion (sacrificial anti-corrosion). Therefore, even if the coating is mechanically damaged and the iron base is exposed, this sacrificial anti-corrosion effect retards the progress of corrosion.
◆Applications
In addition to those of 101-P, this product is ideal for mild anti-corrosion coating when you want to complete primer and top coat painting at one time in a location where you want a silver finish.
◆Usage
1. Because aluminum flakes are deposited, stir it thoroughly before use.
2. Pre-treat the surface to be painted (such as 101-P) before starting painting work.
3. Top coat paint on 120-AL is not permitted.
Acid-resistant and alkali-resistant middle coat paint
GUARD SCEPTRE GF-COAT
Two-liquid acid-resistant middle coat paint (acryl polyol, xylene, isocyanate, glass flakes, white)
GUARD SCEPTRE GF-COAT, developed as top coat paint for the corrosion inhibitor GUARD SCEPTRE 101-P, is highly acid-resistant and alkali-resistant paint with an excellent blocking effect.
◆Features
GUARD SCEPTRE GF-COAT is two-liquid acrylic urethane paint made mainly from acryl polyol and isocyanate, into which high chemical resistant micro-glass flakes developed by Nippon Sheet Glass Co.,
Ltd. and titanium dioxide (TiO2) as rust preventive pigment are mixed.
Micro-glass flakes, very thin scale-like flakes (3 to 10 microns thick), are deposited in the coating layer like leaves.
This exerts an excellent blocking effect for solvent or gas that infiltrates into the layer from the outside.
On the other hand, titanium dioxide (TiO2) added as rust preventive pigment has a stronger property as a basic oxide though it is amphoteric oxide. It acts as a base when reacting with acid
solvent that filters through the coat and neutralizes it.
GUARD SCEPTRE GF-COAT exerts excellent anti-rust and anti-corrosion effects by combining excellent chemical and wear resistance of urethane resin and excellent climate resistance of acrylic resin
with high acid and alkali resistance of glass flakes and the basic property of titanium dioxide.

Places and substances with severe corrosive conditions due to acid, alkali, feces and urine, salt damage, chemicals, or other factors.
◆Usage
